Founder and Chairman of the Board
Greg Morena
Greg is a former Santa Monica High school student athlete, team captain, all-city football player and track athlete. Graduating in 1996, a small running back, Greg grinded and extended his athletic career earning a walk-on spot at San Diego State’s football team. As a dedicated NCAA Division I athlete and scout player of the year, Greg wanted more field time. He accepted a scholarship offer at Cal State Northridge and transferred there to continue playing football. However, the scholarship never materialized and the football program ended a year later. Exchanging his helmet for community service and an entrepreneurial spirit, Greg started his first company, Players International Group, with a mission to help friends continue their athletic careers while volunteering as a high school football and track coach. Soon pivoting away from his first company and starting another (while still in college), Greg founded Synergy Consulting, a business management firm rooted in Fred Segal Santa Monica and focused on fashion industry clients. Years later he exited the firm to become the first executive and Chief Operating Officer of Undefeated, the iconic streetwear company. Later taking the role of Chief Financial Officer at The Hundreds (another iconic streetwear brand), today he consults, owns and operates his family restaurant and businesses, from The Albright on the SM Pier. Greg continued his dedication to the community and today, has spent more than 15 years helping to organize and program Samohi’s Career Day. He has served as a city commissioner and executive board member for numerous organizations. Most recently, Greg served as a Santa Monica City Councilmember, continuing his activism for youth services, social justice and economic development, this year he will take the helm as Chairman of the SM Chamber of Commerce. After NCAA implemented the NIL rule, Greg founded Athletes 2 Entrepreneurs with a mission to help Student Athletes.
